"How are the Turin facilities compared to other Games that you've covered?"
Ed At The Games
The facilities are terrific ! Almost everything was built specifically for these games and the Italians have done a great job getting everything ready on time. Everything is very modern.

"They said ticket sales are slow to a lot of the venues. How are the crowds around the Olympic site?"
Ed At The Games
I really have no way of knowing how tickets are going , however the crowds are all very good, considering that at most venues the preliminaries and heats are going on. We'll see as the games go on how the crowds are, but my feeling is that everything will be sold out

"Do you get to actually watch the games while you're working for Host?"
Ed At The Games
Actually Fred, we really don't get much time to be spectators , but is really great to be at venues where medals are being competed for even though while we work we are not fans

Like the Games this Blog got off to a Slow start!

Ed At The Games
Ciao! Ciao! (both hello and goodbye) from Torino, seems this blog site has taken on the identity of these Winter Games. Off to a slow start, but hopefully building to a satisfying end. I won't bore you with the stuff I had been posting that never made it to the site, nor will I bore you with the reasons why (Italian wifi is a thing of beauty!!). Suffice it to say that all seems in order now. Pollution and politeness are the key words here in downtown Torino. The air quality is brutal, but the people are wonderful, very helpful and proud to be hosting the world. My Grill Room buddies from Team Sun are still buzzing over the Gretzky gambling mess, but now that men's hockey is starting perhaps the focus will get back to the ice. I'll have more to say on women's hockey later! The fun thing here is to watch the city put the finishing touches on itself, the preparation was behind and "last minute" has taken on a totally new meaning here. Everyday they add a little more and I am sure all the sites and services will be complete (whether they are done before the games actually end is another question) I hope the good folks from Vancouver 2010 are watching carefully.....
